Does GARP provide certificates for good performance?

Thank you very much for your engagement, David. Btw: I have decided to go for the CFA as the next step with Part 1 next June. Does anyone have experience in doing the CFA after the FRM? I have the feeling the bulk of double Charter holders did the CFA followed by the FRM. What is your...

Does GARP provide certificates for good performance?

Hello David, Thank you very much for your efforts! I am very interested in the answer of GARP to your request. I personally think that providing the detailed quantile scores would be very beneficial, not only for applications but also for potential employers. If you are for example applying...

FRM MAY PART 1 2013 Feedback

I also think the binomial question was something like 48%. The probability of a down move asked, so you should not forget to take 1 minus the result of the q-measure

FRM MAY PART 1 2013 Feedback

ok, then we are talking about different questions because my question was talking about "decreasing volatility" ;)

FRM MAY PART 1 2013 Feedback

Maybe we are referring to different questions, but my question was about decreasing volatility. A Long straddle and a short calendar spread have very similar payoffs. Hence, if they both are listed in a question and you have to Chose one of them, it can be concluded than None of them is correct ;)

FRM MAY PART 1 2013 Feedback

Maybe you could argue on the following Points: Question 49: What are your arguments for American call? I would argue that an American call can be approximated by the Price of an European call (they have the same bounds). This is not true for an American put, which has other bounds than a...

FRM MAY PART 1 2013 Feedback

hi, i'm not sure but I don't think that you can apply chebyshev inequality in this case. I used the Transformation rule (x-u)/Sigma and looked it up in the provided z-table. This was the only question, where the z-table could have been used and I don't think that they would provide an extra...

FRM MAY PART 1 2013 Feedback

The question was about the test statistic, not the critical value. Therefore, no table was required

    Hypothesis Testing Formulas

Hi, do you know whether we have to know the formulas and their application in hypothesis testing by heart? For example the Chi-Distribution for testing the significance of the population variance, the F-distribution forhypothesis testing of mulit-linear-regression-models and so on. Or is it...

    CAPM

But it is possible to have a different (risk free lending) and a (not risk free) borrowing rate (CAPM deviations). In this case, we have two intercepts of the SML on the Y-axis.

    Personal Taxes & the CAPM

By the way: Do you think that those "CAPM-assumption-deviation-models" such as the above mention tax-model will be very relevant for the exam? I have never seen such a question in any practice exam or somewhere else. Or is this topic new in the 2013 exam? Kind Regards,

    CAPM, SML, CML

Hi, I have also questions regarding this topic, maybe you can comment on them: - I would basically not say that the efficient frontier is the same as the CML, since the efficient frontiert is a curve (concave), starting a the minimum variance portfolio. The CML in contrast is derived by...

Study Plan - What Do You Think?

Thank you for your answers. After having worked through the sample questions of Jorion, Schweser and GARP (but not BT yet), I have the following feeling: - Jorion: I would not say that all quesions are much easier than GARP oder Schweser questions. There are questions which are very easy...
