Hahaha....far be it from me to disagree with yourself, but something needs to be done. I dont want more topics to cover, but a complete review of all LO's would be a good start, at least to me.
Essentially, yes there are too many LO's and some people have claimed that this means that the course is losing its effectiveness. Perhaps reduce the number fo LO's, make it a three part course by involving SCR instead of having so many LO's that will not be tested in the exam even the favourites.
I can only recall one irs question which wasn't even a full valuation.....none on BSM at all or put call parity for that matter......I wish someone could explain how it is that GARP can provide different questions I really do....this seems completely insane.
My two cents worth:
1. Was the exam fair? I really dont know if it was. Perhaps, but I think GARP should be testing methods/concepts that are present in the mock exams. I understand that GARP can test whatever they want, but lets be realistic here, the more obscure the testing material the less...
Agree with you....however I am surprised that viewing your score is even permitted in the first place, also does one provider permit but not the other provider?
I believe so, but not if the time cut off was reached ie you would need to finish the exam then check your score. However I would doubt its accuracy as its only a raw score, also can you imagine if a person gets say a 73, then discovers that the official result is a fail.
Hi, re the Texas Instruments BA II calculator, when setting up the calculator, what is the preferred setting for the 2nd Func, P/Y and C/Y settings? I ask because I have been trying to perform a very simple bond calculation but am getting no where near the expected result. Upon checking my...
Hi, maybe an odd question, I realise that the FRM is assigned weightings ie 20% to topic 1, 20% to topic 2 , 30% to topic 3 etc..does this mean that there will be 20 questions assigned to topics 1 & 2 and 30 questions assigned to topics 3 & 4 and that each question is worth 1 point each? Or does...
Nicole, you are correct in that I dont have a paid subscription this question ie 722.2 is a question that I downloaded from your website as its a sample question, that BT provide for free. I can send through the actual document if you would like to see this. If however its still not something...
Hi David, I have a question re the headed question. I have copied the answer below but I have the following questions re the solution:
"We can value this swap as two bonds (see upper panel below). Although it might be easier to recognize that the exchange...
Hi David, I have a question re Skewness and Kurtosis that I have asked elsewhere. I have attached two screenshots of the calculations, I was of the understanding that given that Skewness and Kurtosis are the third and fourth moments respectively that the numerator and denominator are raised to...
Hi David, I was about to start a new thread on this matter but saw this question/answer, so if I may clarify something with you.
For a sample when calculating skewness will the denominator always be calculated as std dev ^ 3 OR for a sample will the skewness denominator be std deviation ^ (3/n-1)
There is a section within the GARP notes on page 6 of the Quantitative Analysis book that discusses Conditional Independence and I hope that someone may be able to explain this concept is simpler terms that what is shown in the notes.
Particularly this section..."Note that two types of...
