Since this has been postponed I imagine this now means we will be tested on the 2021 curriculum? So that's wasted time on the 2020 materials that will not be LO's this year. Not a great use of my time.
Nevermind. They answered that question in the delay announcement.
Thanks for this, @Nicole Seaman. Are the changes this reflects going to be in the January test? Many of us that tried to take the October test which was cancelled; then the November test which also got cancelled; and...
@Miles77 I don't know if that's fair. I'd say that students in Asia which will likely make up the bulk of the test scores on Saturday, since almost everywhere in the West is cancelling, are usually very well prepared for these kinds of tests historically. You could also make the argument that...
@Nicole Seaman Still nothing on Chicago area. That is surprising. The mayor is now enforcing the 14 day quarantine for all outside visitors entering the city unless they are "essential" workers. If they cancelled Philly I am really surprised they are going to try and do Chicago. Numbers here...
Chicago now has a stay at home advisory beginning Monday November 16th at 6AM. Wonder what GARP will decide on this. I will have to call the hotel in the morning, given the new restrictions that will be in place now. I don't know if they will allow that many test takers in a room; or if we...
Hello BT. I was taking your mock exam 1 and I clicked on the link to look at the Z score so I could do a BSM. But, when I clicked on the link it took me out of the test to where you have it hosted on a different URL. When I tried to get back into the exam I was taking, it reset my test so now...
I am in a similar situation. You need to call GARP and tell them. The Chicago order makes it pretty much impossible for test takers outside of Chicago. That same order was in effect in October also and I was given a deferment. If you defer now, I'm thinking you will likely be moved to May 2021.
And now I cannot even sign in to the GARP website. Can anyone else sign in?
I'm on hold for three hours now; the website has crashed and cannot sign in; and this is the supposed day where you must change your exam date for a deferral.
This is really happening. Wow. Their whole system is...
Still trying to get confirmation on my deferral from GARP. I have been on hold for two hours now. Have emailed my confirmation for the last four days and no reply. Thought calling would finally settle the situation. So far I have been incorrect in my assumption calling would be useful.
Did...
From a grading standpoint, I wonder how those that are taking the October tests will fare--GARP does not say if it is based on country by country; regionally; or global test-takers in total. Seems like East Asia has the best chances of sitting uninterrupted exams in October and they will occupy...
I have emailed GARP multiple times now for about a week. They are not answering and I really do not know why. I contacted member services, as instructed, about how I cannot quarantine in Chicago for two weeks and what are my options since I cannot change exam sites. Also, I cannot sign their...
Chicago has the same limited number rule in addition to the 14 day quarantine rule before you could take the test unless you are an essential worker (which test takers likely are not.) Unless the FRM is really nowhere near as popular as the CFA and less than 50 people will be taking the test...
I am scheduled to take the test in chicago but there is a quarantine in place for those from outside of the area that are going there to take the October exam. GARP has not emailed back on this almost a week later. Most of us cannot sit in quarantine in Chicago for two weeks just to take this...
