Algebra is critical. If I could I would ask, "why would a candidate consider the FRM exam he/she is uncomfortable with algebra?"

@hellohi - it may be a language issue, but your questions seem to be moving in the direction of wasting peoples' time. The question above is a perfect example.

This is what I think @Mkaim said better than I could. The forum can be a critical place for learning but people will be less willing to help you if you appear to not be doing your part. I think you need to be sensitive to this.....so that you can leverage the forum to the best degree possible.

I am sorry, I apologize, but I did not goal to waste your time and how did you decide that my questions above seem to be moving in the direction of wasting peoples' time?
is that because I am not good in algebra and you are good? and you see that the subject is ridiculous and I should not be thinking to go to FRM too.

If I am uncomfortable with it, do you advise me to spend more time to read and watch tubes about it?
hellohi - I am in agreement with @brian.field - we're just saying the same thing differently - he is by far one of the most helpful active members on the forum, so take what he's saying very seriously. Asking questions is important, and I admire that about you, but you have to do your diligence. Let's use your above question as an example, you basically asked "if you say it's critical and I don't know it, should I know it?" if you say this several times you'll get the answer yourself- that's how it's coming across to me. Intelligent questions express what your understanding is first and then express where you're confused. Example: "I thought this was... but what's being mentioned is inconsistent...is my understanding correct or am I missing something".

I want to be clear about one thing, I am NOT trying to single you out. I'm pretty sure this feedback will help you in future. Others will help you irrespective of what I'm saying. I would also like to help you in future, I like helping but as long as some diligence is being performed. Looking forward to helping in future.

Hello @hellohi

I just wanted to point out this forum thread where David has stated that "we are going to collect our sources/link and add a page to our new Resources section that will answer the question "Where can get an introduction to the quantitative foundation to the FRM?": https://forum.bionicturtle.com/threads/p1-t3-507-high-yield-corporate-bonds.8854/#post-43640.

I also created a thread a while ago to help those who may need to refresh their math skills. This thread is easily found if you utilize the search function in the forum: https://forum.bionicturtle.com/threads/resources-for-refreshing-math-skills.8101/. We will be asking others for recommendations on that thread also.

If you type math skills into the search box, it will also bring up many more threads where math skills have been discussed. Please just be sure to utilize the search function before creating new threads to make sure that your question has not been asked already.

Thank you,

Nicole
