Does FRM really ask such long calculations in exam?

hi, i am just curious to know if we can expect these kind of long calculations to in exam?

find out correlation.. ... is there any shortcut using calculator? i tried data function but didn't find anything with 2 variables and 1 weight/p.. can someone please help?

Hi @puneet_ of course not :rolleyes: but that exercise contains several basic ideas; e.g., expectation, variance, covariance, correlation. Any one of which is highly testable. It's mostly to illustrate, not to predict an exam question.

The most important correlation "shortcut" is: ρ(a,b) = cov(a,b)/[σ(a)*σ(b)]. Thanks,
