Exam Strategy

Hi David

It is great to have joined BT for my FRM preparation. Could you suggest some exam strategies; such as, should we start with the problems first?

Thank you for providing such a comprehensive yet simplified method for FRM preparation.

Thanks Avi! That's helpful....

Dakshina,

I don't have many because, I've taken lots of tests and, the FRM isn't very "game-able." I don't think general strategies abound. Some is a matter of style. Myself, I do like to skip to the question immediately (past the intro). And, I like to leave hard questions for the end of the morning/afternoon session, but I feel styles may vary here. The best i can offer (aside from generalities like know the testing location, get rest, don't cram the night before, bring food):

* Answer everything, there is no penalty for guessing
* Because all questions weigh equally, you do not want to obsess over a few questions and run out of time. Within EACH session (morning, afternoon), make sure you finish. So, better to leave difficult questions open, get to the end, then return back to them. You can use spare time at the end to obsess on the hardest questions, but first make sure you get a crack a all the questions. You do not need to get every answer correct (not nearly) so don't make the mistake of running out of time because you strive for perfection along the way.
* Don't judge yourself while testing. The FRM is, in my opinion, the hardest financial exam. Very few people could confidently answer even close to all the questions. But you do not need to, in order to pass. You'll be able to miss quite a few and still pass...

I hope that helps. Thank you so much for your kind feedback regarding our program!

David
