FRM for me?

Hello,

i am pretty much new to this site. Infact, (dont mind spelling mistakes im using shoddy keybaord) this is the first time iam posting this at any forum.

I am 30 years old certified chartered accountant and have 6 papers remaining of Chartered Accountancy program. After 6 years of practilce experience in finance, i have now come to the conclusion that even after i complete CA i wont be able to become CFO of any multi national organization (pinnacle in this line of work). This has saddened me and this rude awakening has got me so agitated i at time dont even like to go to work.

This weekend it got to me so ahrd i had to take 7 days vacation and had to go to 5 star hotel to change atmospohere to calm my self down.

This realization is based on many observations, of which few are :

1. im not good against theory subjects (even subjects which bring high level of specialism in this line of work has loads of rote learning)

2. practically after 13 hours of my office day i cant study thoery subjects ( so even if I manage to pass CA I wont take competition since inherently by my gut I don’t like it)

Now coming to strong points, I was always good at maths related subjects or subjects which require logical line of thinking and which are based on philosophical aspects. My friends have suggested me FRM, I just want to know can a person with 30 years of age and with no practical experience in this field can make it here?

i only want to know can a person with 0 experience in this field can start from the age of 30 and make it big in next 30 years assuming above average level of intelligence?

Hello @sulemanms202

Everyone's experience is very different when it comes to taking the FRM exam so it is difficult for us to tell anyone what they are capable of. With that being said, there have been many people who have passed the FRM exam with little to no previous FRM experience or education. There are many threads in the forum that discuss this, and you can find them by using the search function in the top right corner of the page. Here are some threads that may be helpful:
I hope this is helpful!
