Exam Feedback November 2021 Part 2 Exam Feedback

I see that indeed people got completely different exams from some of the questions that have been posted here. I would say mine was 80% qualitative and 20% quantitative. Actually might have even been more qualitative than that, because I actually can't recall having used my calculator for that...

Exam Feedback May 2021 Part 1 Exam Feedback

Lmao so I passed. The score showed 59/100 on exam and I passed with 1,2,1,2. A thank you to everyone on this forum for the help. I still stand by my last post (quoted). Quite disappointed in the exam and the questions that were tested.

Exam Feedback May 2021 Part 1 Exam Feedback

I'm a bit disappointed with the exam. It was very qualitative and I feel like I barely had to use my calculator. Taking this into account, half of my studying for the exam was basically a waste of time. Some important concepts weren't asked at all and most of the questions that were asked I...

    Exam score from cbt format

I also saw my score. It was a bit disheartening because it was really way too low to consider it a pass. I saw someone else's score and they had it much higher disappointing me even more. Also in general very disappointed with the exam content itself, but I won't mention the specifics of it...

    FRM Exam question weightings

Hi, I actually happened to do this for the 2021 mock exam to check where I made my mistakes. Can't guarantee there's not a miscount or two since it was done manually, but it should give you an idea. Topic Amount Weight 1 18 18% 2 23 23% 3 32 32% 4 27 27% 100 1

2021 Exam Updates from GARP (for 2021 postponed exam updates only)

Amsterdam. I talked with the location and they confirmed it's continuing upcoming Sunday. Don't know what happened previous weekend then.

    IT skills after FRM

Very valid points. I've experienced before that instead of building an entire function/model into Python, my colleagues found out there's a package in R which perfectly suits the purpose. R is very strong, especially for statistics. It definitely depends which area of Financial Risk you're...

    IT skills after FRM

Just speaking from my personal experience from the jobs I had in Consulting and Banking: - Python is hot right now and it's being used the most for developing the risk models. To a lesser extent R as well but it depends on the company which of the 2 they're using. I'd say focus on Python and...

2021 Exam Updates from GARP (for 2021 postponed exam updates only)

I read on the FRM subreddit that for the Amsterdam location the candidates showed up but no one from GARP. Apparently the location is closed on sundays. Anyone else experienced the same thing? I'm worried because I have it next Sunday. edit: I emailed the location as well, of course. Expecting...

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

Call them. There's no queues and they're very accommodating. You'll be finished in 5 minutes. The number is on the website (NJ headquarters), select the call option to list the whole directory and select option 1 for exams.

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

Many people I spoke to confirmed that if you don't feel comfortable with taking the exam because of COVID safety concerns you can simply call GARP and they will immediately defer it to May 2021 free of charge. I don't know if this is the case for every country and venue, but I can imagine it...

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

Last moment indeed. I'm afraid they're squeezing out as much leeway as possible from the restrictions to avoid postponements to January.

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

No way to know until there's official communication from GARP. Tough I think you can expect a cancellation if restrictions don't allow more than 10 people to gather, consistent with the other cancellations so far.

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

I guess we'll just have to assume that it will be held until we get an official message that it's cancelled. GARP seems to be really careful with their communications. There are many countries and venues that urgently need an update message from GARP, but as we've seen the've only communicated...

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

I thought the max capacity for Poland is still like 150, no? Exactly, it doesn't seem different. I finally thought I could continue to study with a clear mind but now I still don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait for official communication from GARP.

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

The site of the Amsterdam exam just updated in my GARP dashboard to another hotel and the date still says October 24th. This implies it won't be postponed. For anyone wondering, the current indoor capacity in The Netherlands is restricted to a maximum of 30 people. This implies that GARP will...

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

Seems like that is just old news which has already been reported before. They gathered it all together in one image and posted it. GARP finally show some sign of life though. EDIT: They seem to have deleted these posts?

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

I see Austria, Wales and Belgium announced tightened restrictions. I really hope GARP is going to communicate something soon. Half of Europe is basically one big unknown at the moment.

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

As I recall it, Germany doesn't have any tight restrictions yet on indoor gatherings yet. I fear that GARP is strictly looking at the local restrictions and nothing else. I think that the locations which have been cancelled so far have a capacity restriction of sub 10 people indoors or no...

2020 Exam Update from GARP (updated on a regular basis)

Coincidentally I just called GARP about this. They (headquarters) said they weren't aware of any new developments and they couldn't update me on anything yet, informing me they know just as much as me... They let me know the Amsterdam people are probably working on evaluating the situation and I...
