How is the Forum Organized?

I wanted to check if there were any study groups that are starting soon, so I headed over to that forum to check.

The first thing I noticed is that the most recent message was from March 2019, but upon a second look, the order of posts doesn't seem to have any bearing on the date order they were posted. 2019 to 2024 to 2023. I can't figure out what determines the order of the posts.

Tried using the forum filters, too. I sorted the forum by "Last Message" and the results were definitely not in date order. Again, the dates were all over the place. In fact, it looks like the filter is completely broken: sorting the Study Groups forum into "Sort by Last Message Ascending" gives the same exact ordering as "Sort by Last Message Descending".

In fact, if I filter messages based on "Updated in the last 7 days" I get a single result -- "Greeks are killing me" which was posted in 2019.

I'd like to look for active study groups, but I have no idea how to find the most recent messages on that forum. It seems much more likely that *I'm* doing something wrong rather than the forums filters being hopelessly broken. What am I doing wrong?

Hello, @Peter S Bionic Turtle does not have anything to do with the study groups that are created. They are posted by forum members. We only created that section of the forum for those who would like to create a study group and to keep their forum posts in one place. After looking in the Part 1 Study Group section, nobody has created a study group for 2025 yet. You can feel free to create a thread asking if anyone is interested in joining a study group for the 2025 exam session that you are studying for.

To explain the order of the posts, using this forum thread as an example (please see my screenshot):

• The last study group (Looking for study buddy for FRM.....) was created on March 25, 2024, and the last comment received was on June 18, 2024.
• Looking at my screenshot, "Greeks are killing me" is a sticky/pinned post, which means that it will always be at the top, no matter the date it was posted or the date someone last commented.
• I've never experienced any issues with the forum filters, but I've never used the "last 7 days" filter, as I've found the best way to see all of the newest posts and comments each day is by clicking on "New Posts." New Posts shows the newest threads that are posted and also the most recent comments that have been made on any of the posts in the forum.
